Upon completing all of your favorite meme faces (inglips/fffuuu, rage guy, troll face, forever alone, me gusta, lol, y u no, and i lied) in a Goya-inspired, painted, style—I have made this poster available to the masses. Until now, I have exclusively done limited, by-request-only prints. However, due to the nature of the internet (my subject matter in this case), I am making my work available to the world for the first time.If you like these illustrations, do follow me on tumblr (I follow back almost every person that follows me), or for the latest, I run a mean facebook artist’s page and a musing-filled twitter.
So I finally decided to stop bumbling around on websites and tutorials and buy a Ruby book. There was vast amount of books on the topic, some 1.8.x and now for 1.9.x so I didn’t really know which one to start with. That was until I went on the Freenode IRC #ruby and #rails channels and talked to some kind folk over there.
It seemed to be the best choice to learn Ruby then get in to Rails from there to get a better understand of how Rails works, and to get me start I was pointed in to the direction of David A. Black’s book “The Well-Grounded Rubyist” for Ruby 1.9.1.
Ruby 1.9.2 has been out for a while now but the general concensus was that this book, even though on 1.9.1, would be a great leap forward in understanding Ruby. I’m still waiting for the book to be shipped to me from The Book Depository (omg no shipping cost) which I was kindly directed to via Booko. So when I do eventually get it in my hands then I’ll post regular updates on my experiences with the book and hopefully someone else out there can get something out of it as much as I hopefully will.
I’m going to be starting with a project that involves my future wedding next August, doing like a check-in system for RSVPs, information and that sort of jazz. A good starting point I think :)
Hey there, non-believers! Enjoy the opportunity to make serious bank during the Rapture later this month by using this print-friendly, rapture-ready will. (See CNN’s story for End Times details.)
This song is so brutal, I love it. Really liking the new ADTR style.
Fight.
